Rocket thoughts: If you are into reverse harems and just a simple one-off, then this is your book. This book had me hooked by the end of chapter two. Wow on top of fucking wow! The heat was there, and the self-discovery on what the four can take was cute but wanting. There was no force and no limit to what each will do for each other.

About the book

Lily Sloane is a Brooklyn bike messenger who dreams of being a writer. Then she gets tangled up with West Archer, Zeke Cavanagh and Xander King: three ruthless, intimidating billionaires known as "The Unholy Trinity." For a decade they've been searching for a woman who can fit into their dynamic for longer than three months, and they think Lily might finally be the one. But Lily is hiding a past full of secrets and lies, and it could tear all four of them apart.

My review

As I said above, I love a good reverse harem where the men know how to treat the woman well, especially if the men are broken themselves. This book is just that.

When we meet Lily, she is just a girl on a bike with a lot of sass, trying to make it in New York City, with a package to deliver to "The Unholy Trinity." And must I say, our girl knows how to guard her packages.

Now on to the men. They are RUTHLESS! I want to say it's a game, but they have a known history of breaking their women. Why? Because they are into the most dark and twisted stuff ever. Oh, and they are all intertwined: two tops and a bottom. Well, one is always top, one wants to only be top but sometimes plays bottom, and one is always bottom. I swear they are so much more than their positions.

But there's a moment where the way they treated Lily had me truly done. No seriously, I CRIED. That's how much I felt it.

What I wanted more of: Lily's best friend. In the beginning they seem so close, but when Lily is going through it, where is the community? Where is the girlhood? It's as if she is fighting her battles alone, and hard ones at that.

Also, one word: roaches. Unlock the spoilers and you'll understand why my whole room is clean right now.

Spoilers ahead

When they humiliated and cursed out Lily, I was truly done. The shocker? They did it because she was writing an article on the puppy trade and the harm it is doing in New York. Well not because, she was writing about the puppy trade they thought it was about them and their business. Honestly, though it is what it is no matter the context of the paper they were wrong. I also think they got her back way too early and too easily. Once that was done there should have been no going back, especially not by it being forgiven just by doing the "do."

When Lily is truly down bad, we know she moves back in with her best friend, but where is the community? And the men badger her when they find out it was all a "misunderstanding." Mind you, they wanted to know everything about her but never tried to open up to her. It is hard to tell someone that you are a child born into the mafia and you faked your death because your dad wanted you to marry a grandpa, and if he died anyone could have "fun" with you. It is just too much for someone who has only been dating three men for less than a year.

A relationship is not a one-way street; it's a give and take. This is when I realized they wanted someone to help take away some of the masculine energy, and didn't really want a woman who was a true partner and could carry her own. The only time they felt equally yoked was in the bedroom, trying to top each other's freak.

How do you tell a woman who is just trying to go from delivering mail to being a lead writer for a newspaper that she is basically a leech and a whore? Mind you, she is a grown-ass woman. That is it, that is all. For three men to be "love is love" and "there's nothing wrong with us all entangled," then become enraged and throw lies on Lily because she has lived, is hypocrisy at its finest.

Also, to portray her as a leech when they lied and said she had ROACHES!!! Oh no, honey. Lily had nightmares from the roaches, and I kept thinking: roaches? EWWW. I couldn't think about anything else. I got up, took a shower and cleaned my whole house. See, reading is not just rotting around; it can kick you into high drive. My whole room is so clean right now!

End spoilers

Verdict: Hot, addictive and infuriating. Come for the heat, stay to yell at the men.
